Why You Should Be Thankful For Your Teeth

Family of 4 smiling and laying on grassOur teeth help us every day to eat, speak, and smile. But often do we really consider all the things they do for us and all the reasons we should be thankful for them? Hopefully, you show your gratefulness for your teeth by brushing twice a day, flossing each day, and visiting SpringRock Dental every six months for a dental cleaning and exam.

Because Thanksgiving is a holiday centered on being thankful for what we have, now is the perfect time to think about your teeth and consider all that they do for you.

4 Reasons To Be Grateful For Your Teeth

  1. They Don’t Ask For Much – Your teeth are actually quite low maintenance. You only need to spend 5-10 minutes each day caring for them and 2 days out of the year visiting our office for a dental cleaning and checkup.
  2. They Improve Overall Health – Healthy teeth can lead to a healthy body. In fact, it’s been found that people who take good care of their dental hygiene are less likely to suffer from health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and cancer.
  3. They Work Hard – Without your teeth you’d have a much more difficult time eating and speaking. The average mouthful of food is chewed 10 times and, with three square meals a day, this equals out to between 25,000 and 30,000 chews each day.
  4. They Allow Us To Smile – Last but not least; our teeth help us to show happiness and joy with beautiful, sparkling smiles.

The best way for you to show gratitude for your teeth is to properly care for them and practice good oral hygiene. This includes brushing, flossing, and receiving regular dental checkups and exams.
